Hey guys,
I'm sitting here looking at the spec sheets for the M12 and the Rx Jr and it looks really similar on paper or am I over seeing something? how do they compare? I'm trying to justify the purchase of an M12 lol

The M12 is the amp for people that want to use pedals for their gain, boost, OD and distortion and modulations. The RxJr with the OD and MV is a 15 watt monster... it's very punchy.
The M12 is a clean machine in comparison IMHO, yet it packs it's own punch.
I have the RxJr, Maz Jrs, Ghias, Z28s, Remedys, StangRay, KT45, MiniZ, M12 etc... and the M12 stands on it's own. Just get one and stop justifying. YOU WANT IT!

Both my M12 and RX Jr take pedals great. The M12 is not quite as loud as the Jr. The M12 has it's own thing like he said, but is all Z. It stays cleaner way up on the volume knob depending on the tone knobs setting's. Both are great amps but are different flavors. IMO the RX has more chime but the M12 seems to have more sparkle if that makes sense.
On the M12, Doc changed the plate voltage from typical el84 design so it's not going to sound like any other el84 based amp per say. Although, there is a hint of Z wreck with the stock rectifier tube (minus the natural overdrive). With a different rec tube, you can change the response and feel of the amp. Really nice.

I owned the Rx Jr, and now own the M12
I thought they were a bit different, the Rx Jr a hotter punchier amp, and with the OD could get quite a bit of on board distortion, More "versatile" than the M12
That said, the M12 is one of my favorite clean tones. I use it mostly without pedals, like it straight in, also great with pedals, but I agree with the "sparkle instead of chime" comment from jesslm02 Blackface was one of my favorite Fender tones, the M12 has the good points of that, but not as scooped. Great clean tone
On paper may be similar, but I didn't think they are the same charachter at all
