I now wish I would have caught this in the theater. I just saw this movie on DVD about a guy in a life boat with a tiger. There's more to the movie than this of course but I don't want to give anything away. Amazing visuals, great story and wonderful ending. If you get sea sickness you probably shouldn't see it since the majority of this 3 hour film is at sea.

Watched it on a flight from Detroit to Phoenix last spring. I enjoyed it, despite the fact that an airplane is not the best venue for watching a movie that requires some thought!

My wife and I saw previews for it. (both on tv and before another movie started) These previews gave a certain impression of what kind of flick it was. We heard such good things about it...great reviews, stunning visuals...etc.
So we went to see it in the theater.
We HATED IT.....HATED IT...HATED IT! My wife almost walked out of the theater 1/2 way through the flick.
I realize now that the previews we saw (where they gave the impression that it was a 'feel good' and 'inspirational' flick) were misleading. It's NOT that kind of flick.
Kept waiting for the feel good part and the inspirational part...and they never came.

I felt the same way with the Eragon book/movie...really sucks to be in that spot with what you know is a good story.

But, I wouldn't have liked it as much if it turned out to be a happy go lucky movie.

To me a book is always better than a movie. Life of Pi was a wonderful book.
