What is the optimal way to wire a 4X10 cab? What is the impedance of each speaker, the total impedance, and is the wiring parallel, series or combination of both? Also I've got two eight ohm TT's from another amp. How could these be used in a 4X10? Thanks for any input you can provide.

I bought a 4x10 cab from a local amp maker. He wired it with 2 output jacks and a switch. The switch allows me to chose either the top 2 10's, the bottom 2 10's or all of the speakers. because of the way it is wired, I have a 4 ohm output, 2-8 ohms outputs and a 16 ohm output. The speakers are all 8 ohms. I haven't looked inside of the cabinet yet to actually see how it is wired. I believe a cabinet can be wired how ever you want it to be. You could do the same thing by not having the switch, but having 3 output jacks. I would imagine if you had the know how you could hook the speakers up to a rotary switch and get any imaginable combination of the speakers. I guess what I am saying is that the sky is the limit as long as you know what you are doing. If you don't then surely someone on this forum has the know how(Unfortunately I wish I could help more but have only limited electronics experience). I hope I have at least given you some ideas of what you can do.
