...and I have only been running comparisons for 30 mins or so..
I bought an empty Z best cab from the forum, someone who was kind enought to ship to the UK, and the new V30/G12H drivers I ordered arrived this morning. My previous cab of choice was a Mesa 1x12 tuned 3/4 back, which I have repeatedly tested against all sorts of cabs and gone back to it because of its superb low end and spread of sound.
Fired up the Z-best with the Ghia. Wonderful fat sound with the fullest low and low mid response I have heard. Whats more it seems TWICE as loud as the Mesa, no kidding, which now sounds very thin and more harsh by comparison. OK, first impressions are always rosy. I'll leave it breaking in with a bit of mains hum for a few hours (and do some work...) and try the Z-28 at lunchtime. More later....

I've got one now loaded with a Emi Swamp Thang and Wizard. What a huge sound from the Swamp Thang and the Wizard(G12H30) fills in around it. These cabs are amazing and I can easily see myself buying a second and putting some low wattage speakers in it, like a Blue, or Gold and a Scumback Greeny. I think the Doc's cabs are a bit underrated and are a big part of his success and great sound that we get from his amps.

Club gig with the Z-best last night using the Ghia. The best sound I have ever known. Simple as that. Through the Z-best the Ghia EASILY kept up with a fairly loud band - I normally revert to the Z-28 to get enough headroom and cut at stage levels when we are unmiked but the Ghia/Z-best was flawless, to acclaim all round. Sweet top end and such a fat sound. We'll see how it goes at an oudoor gig tomorrow. Ghia or Z-28??? aaargh choices, choices...

That got me thinking that must be the ultimate 4x12 if ever its was needed for a huge stage! Decision. My remaining cab collection is going up for sale and the only remaining cab GAS is for a Z 2x10 for rehearsals. These also sound good by all accounts.

We were so blown away at Zfest by the ZBest cab that Doc had there for us. Every time we ran a different Z thru that cabinet, we all looked at each other with amazement. This is truly the best sounding cabinet that I have EVER heard, bar none.

I probably wouldn't use 2 Z Best's at once, I just want another to put some low wattage speakers in for different tones/flavors.

Grats on the cab! I love mine, worth every penny!
Ohhhh.... just picturing 2 Z best's with my 6545...sounds amazing through 1 but with 2 ?!?!?!?! Wow, placed vertical side by side or stacked horizontally?
My audiophile friend brought up a good point, "the best stereo's are only as good as thier speakers".
