I bought a used 2x10 from a forum member. It looked brand new. I think it was because I don't think the speakers were even close to being broken in. It was icepicky and shrill with my new ghia. After about two months I was about ready to sell it and get the 1x12. I see BW on all the videos with his ghia and the tone was nowhere even close. Well yesterday I had an idea. I broke out my old Mesa Mark III and Les Paul and plugged it into the Z cab. Its 60 watts and I cranked it as loud as it would go. I played for about an hour. I couldn't stay in the same room with it. Its unbelievable that this little 2x10 can put out such volume!I plugged in the ghia today and wow!, much better. The high end has mellowed some and the mids are settled down some too. The thing is, I don't think the ghia has enough oomph to break in these speakers or it may take a long time. I think she is a keeper now.

Sounds like it was a fun break-in period. Perhaps another hour or so of wattage and you could be set.
Enjoy!
