I fell in love with the Maz Jr. NR w/Greenback sound playing a buddy's amp one night. It's been a while since the order of my first Z amp. My amp is now hopefully 1 week away from arrival (My 8 week order wait is up Thursday the 15th).
To help me through this pre-drawal (I'm assuming that would be withdrawal for something you have never really had yet), I'd appreciate any fans of G12M speakers to chime in with why they like this model. And anyone with the same combo to tell me how they like to use it, settings? pedals? guitars?
I don't know much about it past that I loved the way the speaker and amp sounded with my band. I ended up having to change my original 210 order. I love the way the 210 sounds, but the 112 greenback just sounded perfect with my band and the low sensitivity really let me open that Maz Jr. up.
So please, Greenback fans speak up! All that I have are your words until my amp hopefully shows up this week.

I just got a Z-28 combo with a Greenback in it and I love it. I used to have a Fender Custom Vibrolux Reverb (the newer one) and it had 2 10's in it. Then I got a 65 Super Reverb Reissue with 4 Jensen alnico 10's. Then I had a Orange AD30r 2-12 combo with Celestion Vintage 30's which I really liked alot, but I have really settled on the Z-28 1-12 combo with the greenback in it. That speaker is just perfect with the the lower power Z amps. It has such a tight bottom end (something that the two Fender's did not have). I play single coil guitars, primarily, and I really like the way that the greenback makes them sparkle on the top as well. All in all I think it's a great choice in the Z-28 and the Maz 18, however, I am going to get a few extension cabs with other speakers as well. I like having options, especially in the studio. With regards to pedals, I'm finding that I need them less and less with the Z, but it has taken everything I've thrown at like a champ. I've already tried it with a Full Drive 2, Fat Boost, Durham Electronics Sex Drive, Delays, Rotary, it loves them all. In my humble opinion, Z amps are the absolute best you can currently buy, and the Greenback compliments them very well.

There is, as you mention, a significant db difference between the greenie and other Celestion offerings. This lets you get into the sweet zone with your tube amp. Additionally this speaker adds some compression and sweet growl to the equation. I find greenbacks to never be harsh. In a 4X12 closed back they're unbelievable, in a 1X12 they keep the noise levels down for the right size gigs.
