Does anyone have an older square 1x12 Z cab AND a newer rectangular one? I'd like to find out how they differ from each other soundwise, if at all. Anyone do a side by side with the same speaker in both?

I've had several of each style. They sound almost identical, except the square one has more open in the back...one has about 9 inches and one about 4 inches open. So the square will probably disperse sound around the room a little better. The more important thing to consider is, are you using it as an extension with a combo? If so go for the rectangular one and sit your combo safely on top. If using by itself the square one looks more proportional with a head sitting on it. BUT, they are hard to find. I hope the doc "reissues" the old style again some day. This: Or this (rockstoks rig):

Nice looking rigs.
Bill (either), Either of you know the where abouts of the 1x12 greenie cab?
Bill, do you play the z28 or RXES more? I think your Stingray is still your goto amp.
Just curious, Drew

Just curious, Drew Hey Drew, you're looking at it...Rockstok got it from me, and then re-tolexed it in blonde to match his two Z heads. It's still referred to as "greenie" though, it just has a new look. I don't have either the 28 or ES anymore, they've moved on to make room for the Stingray...which isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I think I like the rectangular one, which is probably good since they're more readily available than the old square ones.
