I hope it's just the regular Ghia circuit in a smaller box. Selling some pedals and saving my nickels and dimes!

I think Doc said somewhere in a thread that a MV in a low wattage amp did not work well interesting point, do you know what the Doc considered a low wattage in his line up?

The MV on the Maz Jr works beautifully, so yeah--not sure what Doc would've been referring to, there.

I think Dr Z may have been referring to a "true" master volume, one that essentially functions like a continuously variable attenuator. MAZ "Master" knob has an effect on tone and is part of the amp's sound shaping.

If I remember it was on fixed bias amps of low wattage ...20 watts and under all cathode bias amps it works well ...trying to remember but my teflon memory does not serve me well these day's

I'm seriously considering getting one of these to take to gigs with my Monza. The very small package appeals to me.

Saw this "Zaite has been making his legendary amps, which eschew solid-state electronics and sampling, since 1988, when he sold his first Carmen Ghia. The compact 18-watt model is still one of his most popular amps. So much so, that Zaite will be offering up a special version of it with a vintage wood facing in honor of the company's 25th anniversary." in an article linked here

Still finalizing the cab design. My new standup power tranny forces me to make the cab taller. Also a vent on top would be prudent for heat ventalation. Also I really didn't have any desire to do hardwood fronts, do to increase in cost and availability of nice wood.

It is interesting to see the two Tung-Sol preamp tubes in there. At least I think they are Tung-Sol tubes.

Well the cab is finalized, I'll leak a picture here soon. But I did make a change. The original RB-15, that is what the first Carmen Ghia ( remember Carmen my grandson was still ten years from being born) was named, I named it after the guy who bought it Rich Baker had Master Volume.
That's right the first Ghia prototype was a three knob amp. After that I dropped the Master because I was after a cleaner sounding amp. Well I had Don add the magical PPIMV to Ghia and it sounds great, better then any Power Scaling amp to my ear.
So the Mini Ghia will have PPIMV, a very useful and product correct addition to honor the original amp.

Have to ask, will this MV be available as a mod at a later date to the Ghia?

Have to ask, will this MV be available as a mod at a later date to the Ghia? Jack Too early to say. Let's see how the new release is excepted, and if a update program like the Remedy is warrented. With nearly 2000 old style Ghia's out there I may need to hire a new tech........ DR.Z

Whoa. Mini Ghia is now MV Ghia. What's next? Will it double as a rocket car?
