I haven't seen this for myself, just heard it from a fb pal, but thanks to a comparatively small Kickstart contribution to my pal Art's new movie, I actually got my name in the credits... I DO need to verify that, but it's way cool if true. The movie is "Stuck Outside of Phoenix", Refreshments bassist and novelist Art Edwards' project. Premiered last night in Tempe, not sure how widely it'll play, but the book was great, Art's a great guy, and the movie should be very cool judging from the trailer. Revolves around the Tempe rock scene in the '90s and a young bassist's intentions to hit the road and make it in Seattle. More than a little autobiographical, I think. I recommend the book highly, Art self published and you can google his website to buy a copy.

I've used Kickstarter to help folks out with their projects. It's a great idea. It is also frustrating when you don't receive what you paid for. I won't mention any names as that is probably against forum policy. It's also against my policy. I still like the idea behind Kickstarter. As with everything (especially on the internet), buyer beware.
