I have a Music Man RD 110 Fifty combo. This is a 50-watt amp with one 10-inch speaker. A good little amp, but limited by the speaker and small cabinet. I am considering adding a speaker cabinet. To complicate the matter, I have ordered a MAZ JR. 2-10 combo. If I add a speaker cabinet for the Music Man, I'd like it to compliment the MAZ as well. Any recommendations?

....a Z Best 2-12 would work great with both of those setups but they're pretty herkin cabs...a 1-12 would also give you options....speaker choices/combinations are dang near limitless

I think that's the little amp that Chet Atkins used to use. I always wanted one myself. I think a 1x12 extension cab would really fill it out but there are a zillion choices so good luck!

Hi Kevin, I own a MM RD 110 combo too. I got one with the original EV speaker. Very loud and a lot of highs. My amp Nr. 1 is a JR NR head. I use it with a 1-12 extension cabinet from Mojo and a Tone Tubby alnico 12 H1E. Since I got this combination the MM sounded thin although I changed the internal speaker (TT ceramic 10). At our practice room I play the MM and add the Mojo cabinet. That sounds fine and the extension cab adds a lot of warmth. I owned a MM RD 112 combo too and changed the original speaker. I tried the TT 12 alnico in this amp too. It sounded better than before but with the extension cab it´s by far better. You can´t go wrong wih a Tone Tubby, expensive but worth all the money. Where I live (Austria/Europe) the TT´s are not well known but it´s the best speaker I ever used. Hope this helps.

Thanks all for your great advice. Billyguitar, I'll be doing some research on Chet's amps now.

TTs are great speakers, IMO. I saw Chet once and he was using a little bitty Music Man so that's what it had to be. Pretty sure he was using it on an Austin City limits one time too. I'd sure grab one if i could find one.
