I kind of hate to mess with mine at all, it is such a freaking tone monster. I guess if I thought it needed improved, I would do something about it but, it's dang near perfect as is. Sure it's loud, but rock and roll is all about loud, that's why it sounds so dang good. Too, I'm a power tube distortion junkie and the pre amp thing never got me to where I was going.

I'd have to hear the mods in real time to actually consider it. If it ain't broke.

I too am one who's going to wait to hear the MV mod. I have an airbrake.

When you hear it, you will believe. I can't turn my off and that's not from lack of trying.

I have a MAZ 18, a Galaxie, and a Remedy...the Rem gets the most play-time, so I'm pretty happy with it the way it is. I'm curious to hear the new version of course, but I don't feel the current version is lacking anything...I like that it has a minimum of knobs too.

I don't like mine the way it is! Because its sittin' on a shelf in Ohio waitin' on a fixin' from the Doc. But it was fine as wine when it left home :-)

I really dig mine as is. However, I've also learned to trust Doc's pixie dust sprinklings. I'm certainly willing to check out his Remedy tweaks.....

I was half asleep and speed reading and thought they were talking about the EQ mod. It does make a big difference. I opted out of the PPIMV until I heard one as well. This thing sounds so good now I wouldn't touch it.

I love my Remedy and my BL ... Anyway, the mod I'd love to try is the tone bypass, I know that maybe a booster could leave the pedalboard. Tons of tone!!

I do love my Remedy as it is. But the reality is I don't fire it up all that often here at home because I like it at "shake the rafters" volume. That's fine on stage, but not as appropriate all the time here. Having that master would be very nice, and helps me decide to keep the Remedy around here for a very long time.

Doc says that when fully clockwise the PPIMV is out out the circuit. So in theory it shouldn't affect the existing tone, just add flexibility. Would the half power switch still be available, or does this mod replace it? Is this really a question of "why mess with perfection?"... because that is a good point.

^^^ The half power switch will still remain. The PPIMV doesn't act on the power tube circuit as such. Also, as I read it (between the lines) there is DrZ Magic Dust in the design, which I suspect means the signal ratio between the pre-amp and power amp will remain balanced, so this isn't just a Master Volume reducing the power tube output! It's much better than that! ...and of course, as had been said, max the PPIMV control and it's out of circuit, so your Rem is back to its original self

I love my Remedy and would love it without any modifications. However, the EQ bypass mod is so damn fun...

I'm looking forward to getting the mod(s) done. I love the Rem as is, but anything I can do to lessen its long-term affects on my hearing without loss of tone is okay with me. Welcome, even. So thanks, Doc, for reducing my risk of severe tinnitus a bit.

Mine is staying the way it is (I'm not sure how I'd get the mod done easily from Canada anyway). I like using it as a clean amp.

I'm always intrigued by mods - the Maz update and now this one. But last night I took my Remedy to a jam with some friends who had been getting together for a while and playing some tunes I don't normally play in the band I'm in, (Van Halen, Great White, Robert Palmer, Led Zep), so the Remedy was a perfect fit. I took my 2x10 fitted with a Weber Blue Pup and a Silver 10 as well as the Brakelite with my McCarty loaded with Amalfitanos - I didn't need any OD pedals unless I had to match the tone of the other guitar players Boss effects unit into his Carvin half stack. With lower dB speakers and a BrakeLite I get the overdrive that makes me happy as well as the clean that can make the Wind Cry Mary. Maybe after I've heard it I could reconsider but this is the best for me whether 2x10's or a C-Gold or Creamback.

I sold my Remedy to a close friend last fall because I could not tame the volume enough for my use. I love the three 65 Amps that I bought last year, but I do miss the Remedy, even more than I miss the Z-Wreck that I owned. With the addition of the PPIMV, I will be jumping back in later this year. But regarding the question posed in this thread: I can understand why someone might not be interested in the PPIMV, but how could you not want the tone stack bypass? I cannot imagine how that makes the Remedy sound, but I am looking forward to finding out later this year.
To the Z-Talk brethren who already have the by-pass mod: Does engaging the by-pass boost the volume? If so, by how much? Also, would you please describe what it does to the tone? As much as I liked the tone of the Remedy I owned, I have to believe the by-pass makes that great Remedy tone even better.

But I'm getting the mods for 2 reason: tone bypass !!! & knowing the MV is out of circuit when dimmed is just too cool. Ok, three reasons, I believe this will encourage me to use the Remedy more often in small venues which I don't do now.
