Does anyone have any experience with the new Eminence line of speakers? I'm trying to find the one that gives the best classic Celestion sound?
I would also like it to be LESS efficient. I'll be using a 50 watt Marshall with no master volume. I'd put it in a 1x12 closed back cabinet to try to emulate the classic 4x12 Marshall cabinets.
Even with a less efficient speaker, this should be loud enough to handle any gig I play. Otherwise put a mic on it. (like my MAZ Jr.)
Thanks.

I'd say a wizard (g12H20) or a governor (V30) but they're pretty darn efficeient speakers (around 102dB). I have a Private Jack that sounds alot like a Greenback but at 50 watts RMS you'd be pushing your luck a little.

+1 for the Wizard - pretty close to a G12H30. I have the Wizard, Governor, Tonker and Red Fang - I like the new Red Coat series a lot! But for the REAL Celestion Sound nothing can beat a good broken in G12H30, especially in a 1x12 cab! Today I played a Marshall 2061X (20 Watt HW Top) over the matching 2x12 closed back. Sweeeeeeeeeet!! The speakers were 2 G12H30's...

tell me a little about the Fang. I'm thinking of putting one in my Zbest to go w/ the Private Jack for my Ghia head that's on the way.

Very good speaker. A lot like a blue, with slightly less high and tighter low end. A little more doping than the blue, so less cone cry. Excellent Alnico speaker.
Great with a ghia IMO.

Go to EARCANDYCABS.COM and talk to Tim, all he does is build cabs, they are IMHO , simply the best cabs availible period! I know thats bold but they're really, really good. He is an amazing authority on ALL the eminence speakers, and will guide you to what you seek.

thanks guys! I've actually got a convertible 2x10 on the way from Tim. Gonna throw a pair of Z 10's in there and probably snag a Red fang for the Zbest.

Has anyone tried the Weber Ceramic 1230, Ted's version of the G12H and Ceramic 12V, Ted's version of the V30? Thanks!
