So I have heard this is one of the higher gain Z amps. Just how much is available? Not looking for it do super heavy brootal modern metal or anything like that but could this amp live well in a more modern hard rock type band or kind of a post-hardcore thing? Without help from pedals

The GT has quite a bit of gain. It's not a crunchy style of gain; it's more of a smooth sustain type of gain. SRZ-65 has similar amounts of gain when cranked-up, but it has a little more of a crunch factor. I think either would work w/ what you described, it would just be which type of gain you're looking for. The GT is more "Trainwreck-ish." The SRZ is pretty close to a much better built JCM 800.

GuitarZ: I'm okay with the AARP letters. You're still living and breathing? What the heck am I to think when a funeral home sends me a free consultation offer? Ouch!

The Bad Poodle: I bought airline tickets online... now every few days i get emails that read "Your trip is almost here but aren't you forgetting something?? You don't have trip insurance!" and i'm thinking..."is there something i should know about your plane maintenance?"

GuitarZ: Reminds me of buying my Honda. When they tried to sell me the maintenance package, I said "Is your car not reliable?" Long story short my wife teamed up with the sales lady to buy the maint package. Never again!
