Hello,
I'm very interested in buying a Dr. Z Maz 38 SR head amp based on some reviews and articles I've around around there because I'm not able to try it by myself here In Peru. I'm looking for clear kinda fender cleans and good saturation (Plexi or AC) when cranking the volume up, so I think Maz 38 would a great option (correct me if not). I also use 8 pedals on my pedalboard as delays, overdrives, booster, etc (around 8 pedals in chain).
Now here goes the questions:
1) ARE THEY 2 VERSIONS OF THIS AMP? I've checked the amp in dealers stores and they all offers the amp with a "product description" that is not the same one of your web page. Besides that, I've noticed the amp in the stores photos has the inputs in horizontal way (one next to the other), but in the photos and one of the reviews that appears in Dr. Z's web page (Carlos Mogargado's one) the amp has the inputs in parallel way (position). Here goes the links:
STORE AMP (OLDER VERSION)
www.humbuckermusic.com/drzmaz38srhe.html
REVIEW AMP (LATEST VERSION)
I really like Carlos Morgado tone so, where can I find THAT PARTICULAR AMP VERSION? (I can't find it in official dealers)
2) If I don't use an atenuator, will the amp be too much for a small concert (around 200 people) ? In that case, Which atenuator would you recommend me?
3) What Speakers would you recommend me in a 2x12 cabinet to match it with the Maz 38 SR Head? (For glassy cleans, and early breakup)
-I've been told that a Vintage30 + GH12 30 (both celestion) work great together
4) How does it work with pedals? Does the amps has and FX LOOP (If it does, which version) ?
5) Which would be the price for the "LATEST VERSION OF MAZ 38 SR" and where can I find-buy it? (WHICH I UNDERSTAND HAS FX LOOP AND EQ BYPASS)
6) Should I ran the Maz 38 SR at 8 ohms in mono or stereo? Other suggestions about this?
PS: Sorry for the HUGE SIZE of the message, but I can't try DR. Z's amps in my country, so I hope you could help me.
Thanks for your time, Regards.
