Has anyone had any experience with the Dr.z 4X10 cab? How does it compare to the Z-Best 2X12? Looking to use it with a Maz 38 Sr.

Has anyone had any experience with the Dr.z 4X10 cab? How does it compare to the Z-Best 2X12? Looking to use it with a Maz 38 Sr. I preferred the open back 4x10 with a Sr. To my ears the ZBest was a little boomy & compressed when A/B'd against 4x10. Both are very loud even with a Ghia, so I ended up going down to a 1x12...real happy with that set up. Of course YMMV.

I'm not very good at describing this stuff....but owning both...I would say the 4x10 is the ultimate (Indoor) Club Cabinet. The sound is SO big and not focused. It fills the whole place. My kid's instructor sometimes borrows a 4x10 from us and he actually turns it side-ways on stage. The sound bounces around and envelopes the whole room. AWESOME Cabinet. I prefer a MAZ Senior on top of a Z-4x10....but 90% of the time my kid wants a MAZ Junior on top of his Z-Best.... To each their own I guess....but BOTH sound great!

I think it would be cool to have two speaker jacks on the back of a 4-10 cabinet. then depending on the venue you could use two or four tens.

You could probably do something like that, but you'd have to make sure you check your impedence. Changing the impedence can damage tube amps. Or, you could stack two cabs. A 2x12 on a 4x10 and use a Radial Tonebone/ Cab switcher.
