I bought a Blu-ray player as a Christmas present for the house and naturally I also picked up a couple Blu-rays. One of which has this "Ultraviolet" service with the disk. From what I've read you have to create an acct & register the disk before you can actually play it? Anyone tried one of these yet? I'm not planning on streaming it to my phone or any of this other nonsense they think we want. I'll return the disk if I'm forced to use this "service". Thanks

I think the only reason to register is for the digital copy of the disc. I have disc that are ultraViolet and I have never registered for their service and the blu-ray still played . Like you I have no use for their nonsense. Hope that helps.

Thanks! Good to know, I returned it and bought a couple more that weren't UV.. "Band of Brothers" which I can't wait to watch and hear in quality audio. (I've seen it 10 times at least)
I'm glad to hear that I don't have to join a club to enjoy something I purchased. ;D

I don't bother with the UV. Just another outlet for more of my info to be used.
