I ordered a Weber Silver Ten (alnico that is... thinking I should've ordered the ceramic, but we'll see how the alnico does first). Well it's here, so hopefully I will get it mounted in the cab and give it a test run, and then with the band next week.
The G10 Gold and possibly the G10 Greenback are next.

I've always been intrigued by the silver bell 10. I really want to like 10's but I had a 1 x 10 combo a few years ago and it sounded thin. Granted, it wasn't a Z and it was only a 5 watt amp with a ten that probably wasn't very good but it's had me on the fence about them ever since then. I'd think based on the sound of my silver bell 12, that this thing stands a good chance of sounding nice and full to my ears and I might just love it. Can't wait to hear your thoughts.

I know where you are coming from texan. I've always been leery of single 10" amps also. Or at least I was until I converted a ghia head into a 1x10 with the 10" gold. It was anything but small and thin. The M12 however, is a bit lower wattage amp so it might take a few tries to find that good match of a 10" speaker so that it does sound bigger/fuller.

UPDATE: I got the Silver Ten loaded up. Playing it around the house, I like what I hear so far. Much more so than with the red fang. However, playing her in a real band situation will tell the tale, which should happen early next week at practice. My only concern is that the ST is rather inefficient (which I like in higher wattage amps), so we'll see how the volume of the M12 will hold up with everyone and the drummer.

Hey Jess did you get to try the new speaker out with your band? How'd it do?

If you are looking for bigger/fuller , not sure I'd try the Greenback
I have a 10 inch Greenback in a Mesa Express, I would call it smaller/rounder then the original speaker
You can blast it without getting shrill though, no ice pick

UPDATE: I thought it sounded great with the band. I dialed it in using the 'Lo' toggle and actually had the volume at around 3:00. To me, it wasn't as 'in your face' as the red fang. I'm actually glad I got the alnico, I thought it added some nice character and harmonics to the amp. I did have to run the bass pretty high, around 1:00 to 2:00 IIRC, to help give it a fuller/thicker sound. Which is somewhat to be expected this being a single 10". Still I was quite pleased with it, especially for the price. I know several have picked up the 10" gold and liked it, so I do want to try that as well.
