I traded my Remedy for a KT45 I was a little worried about it being to loud so I put in a 5V4 rectifier to soften it up a bit and bought some NOS Seimens EL34 off the Bay....Man this amp rocks Used my Strat with my Fulltonone FD had the gain cranked and all the notes and chords still sounded clear and articulate used my 1x12 gold and had it up about halfway nice gorgeous cleans ,just loved it ... ;D ;D ;D

What made you trade the Remedy for the KT45?
I'm looking at both, already have a Z28 and a Mazerati.
Thanks.

I've been wondering about the Remedy. I know you didn't have both at the same time, but do you have any thoughts/comments on how these two differ tone-wise? I'd really appreciate your thoughts...

KT45 is great for clean, loud (attenuator is recommended), it's glorious with dirt pedal.

Can't miss with either one tone wise what I like about the KT is the EF86 front end (I have a RT66 Also) I can crank the gain and it still retains the clarity while the Remedy to me seems to break down faster (12ax7 front end) that is neither good/bad just preference .. the KT45 is really stiff with a SS Rectifier in it to stiff for me a 5v4 and a 5r4gby work better for me in this amp ..that is not an option with the Remedy again neither good/bad ..What I liked about the Remedy is the Dual input control you can tailor the amp to you speaker and guitar ..wish they Z made a amp like that ....OH WAIT that is the Antidote !!! ;D
if You can get your hands on either amp you will not be disappointed ;D ;D ;D

I liked the cleans but the Remedy left me "LIMITED" With my Other Z's I can play the same guitar or switch guuitars and not have to fiddle or adjust , Im jonesing for another Z I LOve the EF86 its SWEEEET!!!! The KT45 was the amps that got me Hooked on DRZ! My only problem is...... I cant part with any of my amps at this time. Cant wait to hear the new ones coming out

I have the Route 66 and find that the lovely characteristics of the Route 66 tend to "color" a pedal like a Big Muff. To me this means, a Muff doesn't sound like it should with the Route and was hoping to also pick up a KT-45 because I would expect it to retain more of the characteristics of a pedal like a big muff.
My hope is this would have me using the Route 66 to get natural tube overdrive and use pedals like a Beano Boost or OCD to further goose the Route's natural sound and have the KT as a clean palette for other pedals that need a cleaner sound to retain the pedal characteristics.
Will I get what I expect?

I'd say you are right on the money with your expectations of a KT-45.
That's exactly how I use it. Clean and loud...platform for my pedals.
I think when you line up the best of the Z cleanest headroom amps, they all have a distinctive flavor to them. If you play them side by side you can tell which is which (ex: EZG, KT, MAZ38, M12). I have or have owned all those. They all did a great job of letting pedals shine through and carry a lot of headroom.
Personally the EZG ranked lower on my list for this purpose. It did a good job with pedals to my ear but not as across the board perfect like the KT and M12.
It was so thick on its own...I thought that its personality took over some pedals a lot more than the other amps I mentioned do. Some may like that though, but if you want transparent...which it sounds like you do...the KT is probably the #1 choice if the wattage is right for you. M12 next if you need lower watts.
