Has anyone ran other 6L6 Equivalent type tubes in their GALAXIE's EZG's ,RT 66's Or other type amps using these tubes? I know KT66's are very robust I have an amp that uses these. Are 5881's ok To use? or KT66's ViceVersa? What are the Pros and Cons and are there any setup changes that need to be done to use these tubes , such as Bias or rectifier tubes etc.... Thanks for any info given

Bit of a snooze on this question eh Jamie? I personally have not done this in my Galaxie. At times I feel if it was seen as a real feature, we might have heard early on that one could pop any 6L6 variant in and bias to suit. Tried some power, preamp, and even rectifier swaps years ago with my old Super Reverb and just kept coming back to the tubes it was designed around. I think some of these will work with a bias adjustment but I'm not convinced there is a distinct advantage in doing so. Just my take though.

Any 6L6 variant can be used such as a real 5881 or KT66. Just adjust the bias. A KT66 had stronger mids and low mids and is a spectacular tube. REAL ONES in the case of 66 and 5881 not new production nonsense.

I bought several 7581A matched quads a couple of decades ago when they hit the surplus market. Absolutely the best 6L6 type on the planet. Actually they may be too clean for some peoples taste. I thought I had bought a lifetime supply but I found out that they last so long that I would never live long enough to use them all. So I sold most of them about a year ago. They are really pricey if you can find them.
