hi , recently i had issue with my maz , changed one of two big blue caps(leg was broken) and one bias resistor( it was dark around it like it was burned) i put new set of tubes played 2 gigs,and on the last rehearsal it started to hum after 2 hours and 2 el tubes were almost bright red!!! i dont know what it is, i gave it to technician and he kept it on for 2 days and nothing happened... i have upcoming shows and need working amp. if some one could help -please !!!

Absolutely sure all your cap and resistor values were factory spec/correct? Also some types of resistors have higher/better voltage ratings than others....when I changed bias resistors in my MAZ, I used what I had on hand, and they started breaking down and red-plating one of the tubes within a few gigs. I asked Doc and the he said he uses carbon films for his bias resistors...changed those out and haven't had a problem since. Could be something else, but I'd double-check that for a start.

Make sure the wire tube retaining spring clips are not folded under one of the '84's intermittently shorting the pins together, its happened to me....check down at the tube socket where the spring clips go through the metal eyelet.
