I'm still a new guy here - so I'm curious to know how many Z owners are playing Don's fine guitars? I'm a Retro Classic owner myself.

I had three until last week, now down to my two main players, a Bent Top Custom, and a Retro Classic VT. See pics:

Retro Classic here. Swamp Ash body and one-piece maple neck and board. It's the best "strat" I've ever played. Got mine with a Med/Lrg neck cause it feels similar in size to my LP which is what I grew up playing. Now I get to have the feel of a Gibson and the sound of a Strat, Don's work is nothing short of amazing.

I own a ridiculously hideous Retro Classic (I was the one who ordered it, so I can only blame myself) that sounds incredible!! Here is the beast in all its creamy glory: www.massstreetmusic.com/show_indv.php?item=01363&img=1I'd sell it and get a sunburst if the thing didn't sound so good or I knew I could get something that sounded EXACTLY the same.

Actually - it has a unique appeal to it. I've seen a snake with a similar pattern and color. Then there's bathroom linoleum...but that's not a good comparison. Seriously - it's not hideous at all. I know what you mean about wanting a sunburst model, but like you - I worry another one won't have the same feel or tone. Gotta get a VT someday....gotta get a VT.

Been studying up on Grosh's & Anderson's. Trying not to jump in too quickly. Pretty impressed w/ the Anderson "Wedgie" neck innovation. Also getting a feel on pricing on used stuff.

Been studying up on Grosh's & Anderson's. Trying not to jump in too quickly. Pretty impressed w/ the Anderson "Wedgie" neck innovation. Also getting a feel on pricing on used stuff. I've played both and they are both great instruments. But I'm really pleased with the Grosh guitars. They just play like butter, and it doesn't hurt that they sound great too. Of course, every guitar has a personality, so you have to get "the one" to feel that way. Fortunately, I got two of them...

My Take after owning one of each. Both are WONDERFUL builders TAG's are more 'modern' feeling to me, unsurpassed playabilty Grosh's have a more vintage feel/ vibe that I tend to prefer, unsurpassed playablity as well albeit better suited to me and my heavy handed physical assault style

Yeah baby! Got that from the Grosh MySpace page: www.myspace.com/groshguitarsOh by the way, when you get on the Grosh page at MySpace, look at his friends list. The very first one is Lyle. Lyle is the sales manager at A Sharp Music Company here in Renton WA. Number 1 Grosh dealer in the nation (he tells me)... I think part of that has to do with a couple of Microsoft employees who have more money than anything else and buy about every new Grosh model, color, deviation, or whatever that comes along. I'm sure Lyle loves to see them come through the door....

That is not hideous, it's glorious!!! That guitar would work great up in Queensland playing the Great Barrier Reef resorts! ;D And Curt, the Electrones were so cool, Mike Landau posted his sparkle top P-90's on ebay a year or two ago. I would have swallowed that one up had I had the money. Anyone played that new funky model? The Electra-jet? A p-90 version of that would be pretty cool too. I want a red Tele with the tortoise binding and guard.
