Hey guys,
I'm not really into country music at all, but I do like the way country guitar sounds, and the style itself. Since I'm not familiar with many country guitar players, could you fill me on who are some greats? I know a lot about Junior Brown and Brad Paisley, but thats it.

For a modern guy, Brent Mason has been the go-to studio musicians for many years now. He has a lot of album credits.
A few great players, past and present:
Jerry Reed Chet Atkins Vince Gill Pete Anderson Johnny Hiland

Funny, the guy lives near me and I've never heard of him. But that doesn't mean much, I don't go out to hear bands as much as I used to.

Yes take "jmb27":s advice about Jimmy Bryant. Great player - great blending of country and jazz. From Jimmy Bryant it's only a short step to Django of course. ;D Cheers: Dixiechicken

Wow, I'd add; James Burton Steve Wariner and our own;Ronnie Creclius and Bill "Madison" Bolling Thanks Curt...although I question your hearing ability when you put me in with the list of pickers mentioned on this thread!
