1. I'd put a Pair-O-Duncan '59's fore and aft and a Duncan Twangbanger in the middle.
.......'cause I have those sitting in a drawer here ;^)
2. All 'cept the last 3 you listed.

Funny you mention that...debating between the: N:59 M:Vintage Stack B:59 N:Seth Lover M:Vintage Stack B: Seth Lover Probably do the country cover thing (i.e. artist stuff), some 80's cover band rock stuff (for fun), and some original guitar instrumental stuff that's ALL over the place (rock, blues, country, fusion, jazz, country...) Be easy if I just wanted it to cover one area...looking for that 'silver bullet' guitar. ;D

interesting question - have been thinkin' about something similar for my G&L .... but more interested in the single sized 'buckers .... but, if going with traditional size H-S-H pickups, I'd run with S.D. 59 in the neck and bridge - with some sort of Duncan in the middle (most likely I'd go with a vintage style single coil) sound stylings? blues, rock, blues-rock. rockin' blues, covers, country rock, rockin'-country, rockin'-rock, rock'n'roll ...... ;D rock on, eh! Joel

Joel That's what I'm fooling with - picked up a nice Legacy Special on the cheap and it needs pups (someone redid the pups/electronics - not great, but guitar neck/body smokes). May drop in the single sized mini-bucks...still deciding. If I go that route was thinking about a JBjr (B), Classic Stack or Duckbucker (M), Lil 59 (N). But, again, not sure...

If ya go with the JBjr-Classic stack-lil59, I think you'd have good coverage in terms of sound .... good humbuckin' but still a bit different than running with the full-sized 'buckers. let me know what you decide on, eh Joel p.s. would love to hear some sound clips once you get your gee-tar re-wired ;D

I like the SD '59 in the neck with a Pearly Gates in the bridge. After that I'd put a regular single in the middle. Fralin Unbuckers would be really cool, too.

I built a strat with a jb/lil 59 and a SD classic stack in the middle, that very nice and calms the humbuckers down alot in 2nd,3rd and 4th postion, I like the classic stacks FWIW

Older G&L 3-bolt Legacy Special
Great 12" radius maple neck, super light weight/resonant Alder body.
Has a swimming-pool route so pup config was pretty wide open...
Should be a screamer when it's back together...putting in an Earvana nut as well. Tempted to have it refretted w/jumbo steel but may wait...depends on the installation of the nut.
