Hey all ... I just have to report my new purchase since I've just brought it home and it smokes. I was never a "Tele" guy and if you've told me a few years ago that I would like one or buy one, I'd laugh. But times have changes and even though my hair is still long, the 80's are gone and I've just got myself a Tele ... American Deluxe Ash Telecaster. If I could've afforded one of the more expensive tele "style" guitars from Tom Anderson, Suhr ... etc. I would've, but I really like this guitar and it fits me right. Great '52 U shape neck, fantastic finish and SCN pickups. I know a lot of people do not like this pups much but they sound great to me, I'm not looking for "vintage" vibe or anything, just a great feeling and sounding axe.

Great guitar iggs. I love the blackguard look (I have a 52 RI that I love) and especially the big necks. Good choice.

I bought one of those necks and put it on my 52RI and I love it. Never did like the original 7.25 radius. Of course all the Tele purists will react with shock and horror that my 52RI now has mother of pearl fret markers, but so far I haven't seen rocks falling out of the sky or cracks appearing in the earth's surface.

I like it. I like it alot

Nice tele, I like the American Delux line, both the strats and teles, especially the ash models, look great. I have not heard the SCN pickups personally. I've read reviews but tone is subjective. Great looking tele.

The 7.25 radius didn't really bother me. You play them a little differently, I find, but still very nice. I have a "modern" tele which is more versatile, but it doesn't sound as good...

OK so here it goes ... y'all gonna think I'm crazy but after playing the Tele for 2 weeks I just couldn't settle down and wished I got the Tobacco Sunburst instead. Don't get me wrong, I love the blackguard '52 look but it just didn't suite "my style". So I exchanged it for this: US Deluxe Ash but Tobacco burst. I wish I could afford both because I LOVE the other one ... this does suit me better fo' sho! Big props to Mike at L.A. Music in Mississauga for amazing customer service and letting me exchange the guitar long after the exchange date on the bill.

I was considering a hardtail conversion on a Am Del Strat I had, but I played a friend's strat with the Callaham block and forgot about it. That thing sustained for days and you still kept the trem. jmo
