Everybody has their personal favs. I love my strats and teles with the Ghia... I also own Maz Jrs. and for some reason my 62 RI strats and teles sound better TO ME with that amp. Don't get me wrong I love how they sound with the Ghia but in a gig situation the Maz gives me more options for what I have to do when I gig. I do lots of covers and I have to make them sound as authentic as possible. (Except for the middle parts where I sometimes can cut loose a bit!) I stated somewhere else in these forums that my Les Pauls and 335 are a better match with my Ghia for what I do than the Maz Jr. But everybody has their likes. I've been using my ghai with a 15" Weber F150 lately!! Two years ago, I DID have a different view than I do now regarding ALL of the above and two years from now it's bound to change too! PT

Every guitar I've tried through the ghia sounds great, but my personal fav' is a tele! Second best is a strat. I must say that a lester sounds sweet too, but maybe better through a Maz.

I'm liking my Les Paul teamed with the Ghia and my Strat teamed with the Maz Jr. If I had to get down to one amp, it would be a very tough decision, but I think that I would be happy either way.

With the Ghia you have to involve the tube and speaker choices as much as guitars. The Ghia responds more to these variables than any other amp I know of. So for me to say the Ghia likes this guitar or that would be difficult- I'd be saying which version of my Ghia? Brett

Is it just me or is the ghia with a strat more of a match then with a les paul? good question - but I prefer to use an Axis Super Sport .... 2 'buckers with a maple top, basswood backing, and maple neck .... straight in. sounds good with either the 1x12 or 2x10 Z cabs ;D just my .02, etc. etc. etc.

I think the Ghia sounds best with P-90s.

The best thing to do is try different gain preamp and phase inverter tubes to match the guitar you want to use.

All strings applied to the Ghia are String sensitive.

This is a late reply - but recently I ordered a McCarty for a buddy who lives 200 miles away. He wanted the guitar shipped to my house as an excuse to come for a visit - plus I set the guitar up with 10's for him. I got to hear him play the PRS through my Ghia. It was a great combination, so I can only imagine a LP would shine through a CG as well (although I do favor McCarty's to LP's).

I have an IRW McCarty, it kill's thru the Ghia in both bucker and coil tap mode. I also have a Hollowbody McCarty that just sounds awesome with the Ghia. Seems to me that the Ghia is guitar friendly one thing is certain and that is I am lovin it .

Every guitar I have sounds great through the Ghia but humbuckers and P-90's bring out more of what I want from that amp. I prefer my Strat and P-90s with the Maz Jr although changing V-1 to a 12AY7 and using the low input makes the Maz much more HB friendly. The Z-28 likes everything.

When I first got my Ghia I plugged my Strat in immediately. It sounds so good I haven't tried another guitar yet. It's been about five years...

Love my strat through the Ghia, plugged straight in I can instantly get that Lynard Skynard Sweet Home Alabama tone. With an Xotic BB it is just a blues machine.

Interesting thing for me is that the Ghia is so percussive- very immediate. At times, with some very hard-sounding cab/speaker combinations, single coils can sound a bit metallic with it. I changed to a larger volume speaker cab (same speakers) and the amp/speaker cab responds better to my tele. Brett
