I just had my Gretsch 5120 plek'ed (Sam Ash - Huntington, thanks Larry!). I had high hopes, but they have been exceeded. Its like a brand new guitar, one that cost much more then $600. The action, the playability, the ease...unreal! Low action, no buzzing - NONE! OK, now for the not so great part - it cost $225. However, its well worth it. I am having at least two more of my guitars plek'ed, asap, baby. Anyone else had this done?

My Suhr guitar was pleked and plays wonderfully. Very precise machine for fret levelling and cutting the nut. I think it is worth the cost.

I had a 54' Reissue Les Paul that had a terrible fret job from the factory and I sent to Joe Glaser in Nashville to get pleked. I was amazed at how well it played when it came back. It didn't have a dead spot anywhere on the neck, and the sustain of notes when bending was amazing. It's well worth the money!

I've probably mentioned before I've got a Heritage H150 (think Les Paul standard) that came Plek'd from the fine folks in Kalamazoo Was out last night and let one of the other pickers have a go with it and he thought it was as good if not a better player than the Les Paul (think it was the Elegant) he was using. ;D 'course, I didn't have either of my Zs with me .... but it still sounded good thru his Fuchs 45

Are all Plek-ers created equal? That is, can I count on a Plek machine being a Plek machine no matter who's operating it? Will the job be done right no matter who is setting it up? There is someone here in town with a Plek machine and I was thinking about taking a guitar or two down for the treatment.

I have a friend who had his acoustic pleked by Glaser, very nice paying guitar, a big improvement over what it was.

There is someone here in town with a Plek machine and I was thinking about taking a guitar or two down for the treatment. I would think that all Plek machines would all do the same job, but I'm sure that there would be some input into the machine, such as fret size, radius, how much tension would be on the neck for a particular instrument, as the Plek simulates string tension before doing its thing. Here's the Plek that I saw at the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville. By the way, ALL guitars that are made in the Custom Shop are Plek'ed.

Anyone know where a PLEKer is close to south Alabama? Shannon...let me know if you learn of a PLEK'er in our neck of the woods. Of course we only want PLEK'ers who are skilled and have some pride in their workmanship.

Really, size doesn't matter. As long as it's a good PLEKer.
