I've been looking into some strat lately and had a chance to play one of Fender's new Classic 50's. I was very impressed! I actually preferred it over the Eric Johnson strat I tried that same day. All the nice modern appointments with classic strat tone.

I'm shure those guitars can be great - but why don't you build your own custom strat? Go to -- www.warmoth.com/ -- and choose necks, bodies, pups, tremolo and everything else you need. Decide wich woods and finishes you want etc. This is fun and you can get a custom strat that's unique - and just to your specs. Anyway - good luck. Cheers: Dixiechicken

I played a 50s classic tele once at GC, I LOVED the neck, thick with gloss finish. Really nice, I didn't get to plug it in, though.
