OK, I've read about these., and the Sam Ash in Huntington, NY, has the magic PLEK machine. I called, and the price to have this done is $225, plus strings, plus tax, so we are pushing $250. Is it worth it, does it really make a difference? I know a set -up plus Grind & Polish costs about $150, so its not a ridiculious price, but still, anyone have any experience? Thanks.

I've never heard anything but good about the PLEK. I once heard it's a $50K machine so it better be good. I've never head one done with it yet.

I'm a big fan of Pleking. I went to Gary Brawer in SF for Pleking. Made a huge difference, especially in a vintgage style strat that was having issues with fretting out. No more fretting out with vintgage radius and frets. The computer reads your entire nec , and this is important, with vibrating strings and charts it out including every slight imperfection. It then files each fret to perfection. Every note will ring true. The very, very slight buzz you don't always hear but impedes tone and sustain is gone. And of course it will play like a dream. I think it's worth every penny.
