That's an interesting approach. The only thing I don't like about them is when you take them off, you have to manage them. Standard velcro type ties stay with the cable.

In elementary school, those were called "bracelets" my kids have some from various events, supposidly these are "heavy" duty and are not supposed to break.

Aren't these the same things my now 16 year old daughter used to buy in the WalMart checkout line? They were just used as bracelets then. Interesting marketing approach for a dead fad item, and they might work. I'd still opt for some kind of velcro if I had my druthers though.

I kind of like the Planet Waves ties. The Slap Tie looks fine to me if they'll go small enough.

I kind of like the Planet Waves ties. The Slap Tie looks fine to me if they'll go small enough. I ordered a sample of the snap ties and will have some hands experience with them shortly. I also found a decent vendor with more traditional velcro ties. We'll see what happens when samples arrive . . . more to come Todd

You can't blame them for trying to market them to a different audience after they were banned at schools for cutting into students' arms. Interesting idea, but not the best application (for wrists I mean).

I remember when they were the rage. I don't see how they'll be strong enough to hold the cables, not in my cable bag anyway.

That's what I thought (about the strength). I remember many a cut on the wrist when those were in vogue.

I'll let you know how strong they are when the sample shows up. If they give me a couple of them anyone interested in trying them if I think they are worth looking at?

i know there are a couple of these in my daughter's chachika boxes. only thing that i see being a problem is that they don't attach to the cables. i use a bunch of garden hose ties and they work quite well.

When my daughter was young she also wore them. I thought they took them off the market because girls were cutting their wrist when the pulled them off. Evidently after use the cloth part wore off exposing the metal. Of course that was "back in the day" so perhaps things changed.

If they'll cut an arm, will they not cut a cable?

Hi Guys, The snap ties finally came in the mail and we tried them out. Let me just say this, you won't have to worry about them showing up on my cables. There was virtually no difference between what came in the mail and the onces I have seen at Wallmart or the ones my kids get for free from the doctors office grab bag. There was no tension on the cable, if you snaped it on and then picked up the cable it would come uncoiled. Cool concept but in my opinion does not work. thanks for the feedback and fun discussion though! Todd

Hi Shannon, I wasn't too worried about you having them on your Christmas list but I was hoping they would be better than something that sucked. Oh, well. The tie line still works. I did manage to get some nice traditional velcro cable ties. I may add them as an option. The option list is getting pretty long though . . . . Todd
