here's what Ive been lucky enough to get over the past few years. These are 3 of the electrics that I have here in Fairbanks with me, I've also got a couple more parts ones back home at my parents place that I havent used in a while.... the newly aquired 60th anniv. limited edition fender tele. number 140 of 1000! my old black paisley tele. its gonna be sent back to bill for a refinishing and new paisley print. i think the lack of humidity here really messed with this guitar. you might be able to notice how the finish has cracked and peeled away... the esquire that i built. I love this guitar - it sounds really thick and harmonic. it, along with the paisley, will be getting a g-bender hopefully by the end of this year.

I think the Paisley looks good and used. But that's just me. I also dig relics so I'm a little biased to a guitar that doesn't look brand new. Unless it's a Gretsch 6118. Those look best brand new.

Nice esquire indeed!
Ain't it tropical and humid up there in Alaska? ;D Acoustic's must take a beating in the dry climate.

My 2 cents... Leave that paisley alone! Nothing looks better than an old guitar that's been played. Refinishing is like getting a hair piece.

Refinishing is like getting a hair piece. ordinarily i would agree, but man, its a real bummer when you come home and see the the finish of your guitar has bubbled up for some reason and cracked all over the place! of all the people that bill has made guitars for, he says that I am the only one who's had this problem. ...kinda makes me feel unique! LOL I do believe its the humidity. my acoustics DO take a beating up here. Im really scared for my new mcpherson - my larrivee got a crack and had to be repaired once already. I dont want to have to do that again. but you guys giving me your opinions has shown me a new perspective - i really appreciate it

Yeah, don't have the paisley redone. Love her for what she is!
