Has anyone tried the Suhr hum reducing backplate/system on a Strat? If so, what are your opinions, please? Is the hum significantly reduced. Any change of tone or dynamics to your single coil pups?

I've got one waiting to go into a Don Grosh Retro Classic when it gets here. Should be very soon. The reports that I've read over at TGP are that it's great, reduces noise with no changes to your tone. I'll be sure to let you guys know as soon as I get my guitar.

GM1, I've heard what they do in a Suhr guitar. Reduces the 60 cycle hum dramatically with no tone loss and perfect touch sensitivity. Just make sure your pup set doesn't have a reverse wound middle pup. Rick

Lindy Fralins shop is 10 minutes from my house, he was winding me some strat pickups last year, He has a shur system on his strat. He explained that Mr Shur didnt come up with the idea, it was a buddy of his. He also stated that noiseless single coils are nothing but stacked humbuckers [2000turns?] trying to maintain a single coil sound. The shur system is a strat back plate with 200 turns in the outer edge, it has 2 trim pots to adjust sevnsitity. All single coils are wired in same direction, the 2 and 4 sound, the quack isnt really there anymore, it is sorta but not like a regular strat. I just bought shur strat with that system but it has a push pull pot to turn the system on/off, pickups sounds a tad better, more vintage, awesome guitar..hope this helps
