I'm a lefty, but I play right-handed. Too many backyard innings left in the dugout because I didn't bring my backwards a$$ glove from home-- decided I would teach myself to play everybody else's guitar, so whenever the opportunity arose, I could play pass-the-peace-pipe, as it were.
(BTW, no. No to ex-hippies, rastafarians, and high school flunkies. That wasn't a drug reference, it was an analogy. Put the bong down and get creative.)
Playing right-handed has been nothing but beneficial to me. No crazy special-orders, plenty of used guitars to choose from, no crossing streams (Ghostbusters reference-- children of the eighties unite ((or reunite))!) Hey, that spells Reunite, the wine, also from the eighties!! Okay, I'm just rambling, here, now.
Hated those damn LEFTY scissors, while we're on the subject.

I'm a lefty but play righty. Weird cause I tried a Left handed guitar not to long ago and it was if I had never picked up a guitar before in my life. Didn't have a clue what I was doing.

A buddy is a lefty who plays regular guitars flipped over. His chord shapes are a mirror image of my own. He'd like to get a lefty guitar so the controls would be properly located but he'd have to reverse the bridge/strings/nut. Hassle.

Another lefty playing righty here.
I was taught that way before I realized there was another option, & by that time it was too late. I like having my dominant hand doing the heavy lifting...

I'm also a lefty playing righty. It just seemed natural to me that my dominant hand be the one at the fretboard. I wonder how many pros play like this? Then again, maybe that's why I'm not a pro!

I'am a lefty who plays right handed too. I think Joe Perry from Aerosmith is a famous switcher. When I started playing guitar I read that the piano is a 2 handed instrument and they don't make left handed pianos so I just went with an available right handed guitar.

Hmm I am a righty who before learning to play always played air guitar lefty.
When playing basket ball I dribble left and shoot right.
Maybe I should have been a lefty.

A friend I use to play with in high school was left handed but played right handed. He suffered terribly with his rhythm. His fret hand developed well, but he had no coordination when it came to strumming. I tried to get him to play like a lefty, but he didn't want to have to "relearn". He wrote good songs and had a good voice but just stunk on guitar.

Paul Mccartney, right handed. Jimi Hendrix, right handed. Steve Morse, left handed. Plus probably the ten best guitar player I know personally are lefties playing righty. I bat and golf lefty, write righty and am semi ambidextrous.

BONAFIDE LEFTY HERE! I played upside down from the start and switched the strings and nut around on my guitars and started buying "REAL LEFT-HANDED GUITARS" ASAP! Yes I 2 have "PAID" dearly for sticking to playing left- handed with the "DREADED LEFT-HANDED AVAILABILITY CURSE" that all left-handed players must endure!

lefty lang, i'll try to get you pics of the weird Tele. Its based on a Korean TC 90, but TWO chambers, all hollow, and obviously everything ele lefty but the headstock. I like righty headstocks. Different tension. Takes .011's better.
I'm wating for pickguard repair, so its in the shop. Playing my LP6+ Sunburst at the moment. Lovin buckers right now.

Hey Lefty, Jimi and Paul McCartney are right handed. They just play guitar lefty. JH may have wrote with his right, but that doesn't make him right handed. ;D I bat right handed, can eat right handed...etc. But I'm still a lefty.

I forgot that years ago people were often forced to learn to write with their right hand even thought they were left handed. So all I know is that Jimi and Paul write with their right hands.
