I need to get two telecaster pickups repaired. Can any of you make a recommendation to somebody that will do good work without making me wait for three or four months??
Thanks!

Curtis Novak - One of the best unknowns out there (probably not for long ...). Does great custom work and fantastic repair work. I had a set of '70's Gibson mini-buckers that needed new leads and he did a great job with a short turn-around. Check his website - curtisnovak.com/

I just got '63 Tele with a bridge pickup re-wound by Lindy Fralin and couldn't be happier.

Frank, that was the right thing to do , having Lindy re-wind the original PU. Lots of guys would swap them out, and never think twice.

The easy part was that the repairman selling me the guitar told me he had already sent it out to be re-wound..he said Lindy was the best he'd used and that the pickup was really unusable..So the decision was made for me..When I first felt the neck it was bolted to the body with no strings and no electronics. I knew the neck was fantastic as soon as I felt it. He called after he put it together and two chords later I was handing over my money. The guitar was a complete restoration..I mean a new fingerboard for God's sake. This guy had re-built Albert King's guitar and is a repairman for the highest end dealer in town so I was pretty sure he knew what he was doing. Lucky find..Back on topic...the pickup sounds great. Excellent tone and just hot enough...I love it. YMMV.
