Anyone have any experience with these guitars? Several models have been calling out to me for awhile now but since I live in OKC I have no way to try them out. Based on the prices and the reviews I've read, I'm tempted just to buy one new and try it. What say you?

I tried two of the jazz boxes, and really liked them, but I'm not much of a jazz player yet. They seem to be more affordable compared to other guitars of that type, probably because they are made in China, cheaper labor. I couldn't find anything wrong the qualilty. I'd like to try thier 335 model.

There's a store here that carries the Eastwood guitars. He's also one of the only Reverend dealers. The Eastwood look real nice for the money. I've read that the humbucking and P90s are rather dark sounding. I was real interested in the Harmony Stratotone copy. Unfortunately the things I don't like about the real ones were also copied. The neck is HUGE and set at such a low angle to the body that you couldn't put a decent bridge on it without routing the body under it. It also has dinky frets. It's cute as hell though!

Oops! My bad. I got Eastwood and Eastman mixed up lol.
Eastwood.
Never played one, seen a few though. I think it's great that they brought some of the rare body shapes back. The Mosrite clones keep calling me to try one.

The Stratotone copy is the one I was after too. Looks killer and Vintage Guitar Magazine gave it an excellent review. I really like the look of that Stormbird and those Mosrite looking ones too. Hell, they all look cool!

I had a Eastwood Stratotone for a short while. I liked that "baseball bat" of a neck on it. Unfortunately, it was dead-on-arrival: cracked, courtesy of FedEx. So, back it went. And I'm still trying to get a damage claim honored...

I've GAS'ed for that Airline for ages. The new Tuxedo looks nice too.

I'd really like the Supro but I'd have to see it first to see what they're doing for frets. If they're the little frets like the real Supros no way.

I believe they are, they go for accurate copies but with a little better reliability. But try one first.

I just went on Eastwood's site and listen to the samples (both video and audio) of the Airline Tuxedo and man........i'm impressed. Pretty unique sound and seems to be well built (i will have to try one out to really know but...) I've seen a couple of dealer that let them go for 899$ with a hardshell case so it looks like a pretty good deal. Dam guitars, just when i thought my stables was OK for a while !!!! ;D

I tried the three pickup Supro copy last weekend. Couldn't play it because all those knobs above the pickups.

I had worries that those knobs would get in the way.

Have not seen any Eastwood's in the stores around these parts. That could change though; apparently some local artisans are using them around town now. Biggest being Bubbles of course!!! Word from the Tralor Park is he's considering an endorsement deal ;D

There still doing their show. My Daughter and i were at the East Coast Music Awards and the Trailer park Boys hosted the show. The premise was that Bubbles broke Ricky and Julian out of jail just so they could hoist it. Pulled into the venue right next to where we were sitting in their old beater with no passenger door, in full prison coveralls and of course, a rum and coke in hand.
They were a hoot...and what show would be complete without Bubbles singing his hit "Liquor and %hores". ;D

The Eastman Jazz boxes are really nice--well made and still at a great price. They are made by former violin makers and they do a really nice job. If you want a really good jazz guitar at a great price, I think they have to be a serious consideration.
I have a buddy that plays jazz & he bought one after I told him about them.

I think you may be thinking of Eastman, not Eastwood?
