After all these years, I just bought my first tele. I've always wanted one and have played our bass player's (Am. Deluxe) from time to time. It's not one to really brag about, but I'm excited. Since it's a MIM I didn't pay that much for it so I won't be out that much if I decide it's not for me. What attracted me to it was a few of the professionally-done upgrades. I hope to get it around the end of the week.

You might want to get a compensated three piece bridge. I've found that the graphite softens the tone too much. Have fun! I started with an American Standard Tele but didn't like it at all. After some time I bought an Anderson and then I really found out what a good Tele is and for me it's a hybrid but the Fender started it.

Good Tele bridges here: www.mannmadeusa.com/tele.htmI have the paired compensated brass unit on my Zion Tele. It intonates beautifully and preserves the 3x2 pairing that is so much a part of the authentic Tele sound (imo). They also have the more modern individual saddles if you want to go that route. jh

Thanks, guys, for the info. on the bridges. I'll have to look into that. Being a tele newbie I wasn't aware of the differences in tone between the bridge/saddle types.
