HI !! Just wanted to share an experience and to get you guys opinion on Robin guitars. I've bought a used Robin Ranger custom 6 months ago and just love the Tone and playability of this guitar. It's a 1992 or 93 model, and i was amazed when i played the guitar unplugged and how it was rigging. The pic ups are all Rio grande (actually 1 or 2 years before they patented the name i think !!) The guitar is made to be very versatile, which is not always a good thing but if you know how to set it up you can get great sound out off this babe ( ;D). It as a bridge Tele pick-up, a strat mid pick-up and the neck pick-up is a Les-Paul style humbucker. So if any of you familiar with those guitars, just taught it would be fun to see what you're thinking !!

I almost picked up a guitar just like that one. Enjoyed it - thought about it and it was gone when I went back. Was while I lived in TX...they were built around Houston I believe...not sure where they are today - or if they're even still building guitars. Some neat designs/concepts!

Years ago I saw a similar model (but with HB in front, single coil at the bridge) at a GC and almost picked it up... at $399.00 or whatever it was a good price. And a very sweet instrument. I don't recall what made me back off on it. Probably my finances at the time...

HeY d.weller, Robin is still alive and kicking. In fact they're building the best guitars they've ever made. They also manufacture Rio Grande Pickups. www.robinguitars.com Check out the Savoy and the Avalon.
