Looks just like an incase bag, but it's $93! Is it too good to be true?

The good and really good gig bags are still expensive and nearly as heavy as a good case. What is wrong with a good case for a good guitar? I'm not understanidng gig bags very well. I've puzzled this thing out, and don't see the magic!

Here in NYC they are a necessity for the most part. Being on the subway, getting in and out of cabs. I would throw out another disk and need a truss if I didn't have my gig bag. Now I'm not running around with a Gibson L-5 or my old Byrdland strapped to my back, I'm hauling around a "working" axe. Used to be my '84? Strat that I had no hesitations about using it to "persuade" people if i needed to. These days its my Tele. Also before airport security got so tight I was pretty good talking my guitar into a space in the coat closet on a plane.

I bought my first Reunion Blues gig bag in 1977 and never wanted to use hard cases again. It made life easier for sure. I always carry my own guitar so I've never had a concern for it's safety or had any kind of damage. It's just so nice to throw it over you shoulder and still have a free hand to carry something. It's easier to stash at the gig too.

at one point, my main guitar was a blonde 335 and i carried it around in its hardshell case. one day i had both of my hands full and had to open a door, so i leaned the case against the wall and open the door. it slipped and fell to to floor slowly, you know, not a fast "Bang!" i didn't think nothing of it and went back to my room. when i took the guitar out later that day to practice, i found its headstock broken. :?
not that this is the reason i stopped using hardshell cases but i've switched to gigbags in the early 80's and they just can't be beat for everyday gigs, sessions, rehearsals, etc... and yes, i use them for Gibson guitars as well.

I have one of those Gators for one guitar...the hard case inside the bag? Is that considered a gig bag?
