Call me crazy (and many have) ... but it shouldn't sound too far off from the regular run-of-the-mill SG Standard with the 490 and 498. that said, the ebony fretboard may give some nice tonal variation. They do look kinda cool - just saw one on Saturday at local shop. Not quite my cup of tea, but will the silverburst will definitely stand-out from the rest of the crowd. happy shopping ;D p.s. did not try out guitar as I have been advised that I have acquired enough stringed toys already this year
