Hi all,
Which cabinet would you all recommend with the CG, the Zbest 2X12 or the Z 1X12?
What speakers usually come stock in these?
Thanks in advance.

my $.02 .........
If you play in a loud band where the drummer bangs hard and your amp isn't mic-ed, you'll want to push more air in order to be heard in the mix .... so a Z Best is preferable. Stock speakers are Celestions -- one Vintage 30 and one G12H30.
If the above is not the case, I prefer a Celestion Blue in a 1x12.
But it also depends on what style you're aiming for. I'm not a high gain player, I play 60's, 70's Rock-n-Blues, so the C-Blue suits me well.

The Z Best will be my next buy. If you can deal with your cab being a little loud, ut can't be beat. I'm going to run mine with a Z Brake.

A ZBest and an open-back 1x12 cab are 2 different animals. It depends on what type of music you're playing. For country stuff, I use open-back cabs. The sound moves around the stage better. The ZBest is more of a directional cab. At Zfest, we ran many Z amps through the ZBest and we were all knocked over by the sound of this cabinet.

Don, were you all "knocked over" in the literal sense like the old Maxell commercial or "knocked over" as in slang for cool groovy tone? Oh wow, I gave youtube a search and yes, I found it. If there is a hall of fame for TV commercials, this one must be in it.

One aspect of the Carmen Ghia is that is not speaker fussy. Just about anything sounds terrific. I use all sort of cabs with min and speaker running from the P12R to a 100 watt Celestion in a ported 1x12 H&K cab. The Z-Best is my personal favorite cab with the Ghia but that is just my own personal preference. '

Myles is correct. It's not speaker fussy.
In my circle of friends, we have Head/ Z - 2x10 cab 1x12 Combo + Z-Best Cab 2x10 Combo...
All sound amazing!

I have a Z-Best loaded with a Weber Blue Dog and a Weber Silver Bell (a favorite combo on this forum...) and a 1x12 old style Z-cab (back ported) with a Celestion V30. I switch up between the Ghia, Maz Jr, and Rt 66 depending on needs, and I can honestly say that those are all the cabs I'll ever need. Sure I've got like 6 other cabs, but they just sit around.

I really like the sound of my Ghia 1x12 combo with a Vintage 30. I'm usually not a huge fan of that speaker, but it sounds terrific with the Ghia. Once it got broken in, the tone was just magical. Again, I don't think the Ghia would sound bad through anything.
