So I left my Les Paul at the studio the last time the band was up there, so I haven't had a chance to put the SRZ through the paces with a solid body humbucker guitar. So I lug out my V which I haven't played in a while. Now for a good while I thought that the last time I got it set up the guy put 11s on it instead of 12s because they felt oddly light. So the other day I pick up the V and start wailing away. Then I realized--it really had 12s! But they were still comfortable to play! Wha?? Maybe all the time on the strat got me more comfortable with more tension. It was like in this review I read on a Z amp where this guy thought he kicked in his tubescreamer for a solo, and he really dug the tone he had, but then he looked down and saw the pedal off and the tone was 100% from the amp! Oh, and the SRZ smoked with the V!

Sweeee-t! It's always nice when you get those kind of happy surprises with gear and tone.
