Lately I've been hankerin' for a L5, neck pickup, jazzy tone. Somehow I found the Veillette site ( www.veilletteguitars.com ) . They make a small guitar (Jazz 20) with the neck pickup placed where it is on an L5. I'm starting to really dig the thought of having that tone again. I say again because I do have a 1976 L5 CES that may be the ugliest L5 of all but plays and sounds like a million bucks. The problem is I feel like Little Jimmy Dickens when I play that giant guitar. (At the time I bought this guitar I almost bought a Super 400 but it's really huge!) Also a huge thick archtop is just too cumbersome and I hate craning my neck to see my fingers. Anyway, I'm doing some research on these and have been emailing with them. Does anyone have any experience with Veillette Guitars?

Looks like they make great instruments. Arch-top standard 22-fret is really nice.
