Well, the parts Strat put together to keep my parts Tele company is done. 'Tis a lovely thing indeed. Wood's from USA Custom - ash body, AAA birdseye/pau ferro neck with clay dots. Hardware's the Callaham bundle, electronics are the Callaham/Fralin pre-assembled, with the blender pot. The finish is a Surf Green relic job on the body, amber-tinted neck, both nitro by Gordon Miller. Still getting used to it. Been a long time since I had a Strat. Went with a compound radius on the neck, and a U profile instead of the C on the Tele. Sounds great, though, but I've yet to find the optimal use for the blender pot. Looks great! What does Gord charge to do a refinish ? A fellow I work with has a 69 Strat ( had it since new ) that he may part with at a managable price but like a lot of guys back in the 70's he stripped the finish off . I don't know if a person should leave it as is or give it a nice color in nitro .

Different finishes/treatments have different prices... I think he has a price list on his site. Yep: www.gmvintagerestorations.com/prices.htmlVery much worth it, too. He puts his heart into his work, and does a great job. Brian

bks, That's a nice guitar. I hope you had fun doing it. About 20 years ago I took a CAR Fender 62 Reissue, and put the blue (humbucking) Fender lace sensors with a white pearloid guard with custom wiring to get 7 pickup combinations. I really liked it a lot. After a while, I got tired of the lace sensors and needed the money so I sold it. I might of come out even or lost a few bucks. Hope you keep yours for a long time. It might be too early now, but do you think it was worth it?

Hey heynewguy! It's still only a couple of weeks old, but I love that Strat. I hadn't really considered it in terms of "worth it" or not. I mean, I got it to play it, and I don't imagine I'd ever get what I put into it if I sold it...but I'm certainly glad I built it. Chipstar, you should hear these puppies twang through that Ghia! Man oh man... Brian
