Any experience with humbucker or mini-humbucker on Strats?? I like very much Stef Burn's rock sound, it is simple but big and fat. He has a Seymour Duncan JB, with a push-pull pot system to split hum into single in pos 1 e 2 even if he doesn't split it in pos 2. (I've been at SB clinic on november and he said that). I'm not a country player, and I'm only few times in bridge position, so I'm considering to put a mini-hum on my Strat Deluxe. Am I totally wrong?? Suggestions? Thanks, Tom

i used to use a Firebird pickup in one of old Strats. it sounded great. i still have that guitar tucked away but it now has an old mini humbucker in the front position. it works well there.

Thanks MS, I don't know much about mini-HB. Could it be splitted like a standard-size HB? Are there too much difference in volume and in tone EQ from mid and neck PUs?

Just spent some long due playing time with the 'bird. It's a raw sound (mine, at least). There are volume issues with vintage mini-hums (like mine), the bridge is much lower in output and thinner than the neck pickup. Newer mini-hums don't have that problem.

Skydog, I see that you play mainly LP, I'd like to try a mini HB on my Strat, in the neck position, would it be the same? Anyone knows if you can split it with a push pull pot?
