Hey all, I was wondering if anyone has a Stangray in a 1x12 combo? I was gonna buy the head with a 1x12 cab(Gold), but is it worth it to just buy the combo version? It's a lot cheaper and I don't know if I'll ever use or even need a 2x12 cab. Plus, I have a bad back, so I can't lug that around. I realize if I get the combo, I'm limited in options, like if I ever dud want to get a 2x12 cab, but I think a 1x12 would be all I need. Thanks, Jason

I had a 1x12 combo with a gold. Awesome. Loud, but awesome. If you have a bad back, you will want a handcart/dolly.
Yes, a 2x12 is great, but it's more expensive, larger and heavier. My 1x12 was fantastic.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ IS fantastic. I bought that 112 combo from John, still my "main squeeze", I add a Z 112 when i play bigger places, adds a little more volume and dimension, but sounds fine as is w/one Gold. I have no problem carrying it around, and i am an old fart, would be really easy with one of those lightweight dollies.

What speaker do u use when u use an extra 1x12 cab? Another gold? Also, have u had any problems with tube rattling? I've had those problems with my peavey classic 30. That's kinda why I wanted to get a head so no tube rattling.

Usually a Blue, or a G12 h30, depending on content...no tube rattle, The amp came to me with rubber dampers installed on the power tubes. This is a little more amp than a Peavey, very sturdy and well built, you will be impressed.

Cool, thanks for the info. I'll probably end up getting the combo then with a brake lite installed.
