Hi Matt,
I'm using one with my Ghia- as with any overdrive and the Ghia You are working with a small amount of headroom. I'm using a 12BH7 in v2 for that reason.
I set the OCD gain to about 9:30- 10:00 and tone to about 12:30, volume at about 11:00. The volume is set just before or just at break up on the amp (no OCD). I love this tone with both my humbucker xtone and JD tele. On the back pu of the tele (Duncan Broadcaster) I roll the tone of just a bit. Open edgy and ballsy. If I want tighter bottom end and a less open but smoother sound I use my 808 modded TS-10 pedal. Brett

Hi cementman I've got my nos and anos tubes from www.tubedepot.com. I've got an RCA anos. Can't remember the price but it was cheap. Brett

+1 for using a 12bh7 in v2. I also use a RCA nos, relatively cheap and increases headroom and makes the already touch responsive Ghia even more dynamic. Great tube change for using od pedals with the ghia.

Brett and others -
Thanks - Im gonna try one of those 12bh7 in v2. I still have the stock tube setup in mine and figured "If it ain't broke - don't need fixing"

If you're going to use an OD pedal, the 12bh7 is the way to go. I know it's not broke so you're not fixing, you're just improving! The 12bh7 will also make the cleans much better; more headroom and incredible touch sensitive dynamics. You won't regret it.... but if you do, it's a cheap tube and just change it back. I think in the early days the Ghias shipped with 12bh7s so it's not some drastic mod.
