Well, after reading the "gibson prices too high" thread and drooling over benttop's PRS Singlecut, I'm GAS'n to sell my Les Paul and splurge on this Singlecut Trem: So, before I do the typical impulsive guitar player thing and order it, what do you guys think? -Greg

You know what I think... ;D
That's an interesting image - that guitar has two less knobs and the selector switch is in a different place! I wonder how many variations there are with Singlecuts? Hmmmm....

Steve,
yeah, your singlecut is the style that got PRS in trouble with Gibson, even though it looks nothing like a Lester in my opinion (and that's a very good thing).
BTW, how are you liking the singlecut? Do you play it often, or is more of a guitar that's just nice to have (I need more of those ;D).

I think I've basically concluded that I like the strat for my blues band, but the Tele and the PRS both work great for the rock stuff. I was actually planning on plugging the Singlecut into the Mazerati and BB Preamp today, but worked on taxes instead - yeah, heresy! Maybe I'll get to that tomorrow...

I had a Custom 22 10 top/birds and traded it even for a Les Paul raw power (basiclly a standard with no finish) not the emg model ..... There was nothing wrong with the PRS but it was no Les Paul...and I needed a LP sound.. also for my taste, I could never get "mated" to the guitar, there was no connection there...It sounded alright, but really did not have anything "special" going on... It was a good guitar, just not for me...

I've been playin' Tele's so long now I get tangled up in the Lester controls, I really like the McCarty control layout.

Curt,
I think that its just the standard control layout for the Trem version of the Singlecut. I agree, I like the simplicity of the McCarty layout over the 2x2 volume/tone Lester setup.

Beautiful guitar & PRS fit & finish is usually impeccable. I love my PRS Custom 22. I sold a 2003 Lester Standard that Was very close to the finish on your single cut for my PRS and I don't miss it at all.
Be careful.....I here the PRS single cuts can sometimes weigh more than the heaviest Les Pauls. If you are mail ordering this, I would get them to tell you the poundage!

Really? Wow, mine is SO MUCH lighter than that Les Paul I sold a couple years ago. Hmmm, maybe it's chambered?
