Is this an easy task or should I take it to my tech? It's the original so it will be twelve years old soon. What capacitor is recommended? She sounds great but think it may be slipping. A steady shhhhhhhh and hum are becoming more prevalent. The tubes are good to go. I'm handy with a soldering iron, FWIW.

just for the record....the filter caps are THE part of the amp that can kill you. If you're not 100% sure of what you're doing. Don't.

Ya I read that much into it. Safety is always a first when I go digging around in there. I'll open her up and see what's in there now.

If you do not know how to drain the voltage off the capacitors, send it to a tech. It's easy work and not expensive....Def not worth risking your life....
