I ask because I set out to buy a Ghia (I wanted one bad!) and it had sold before I made the call. The guy talked me into the Classic Cat which is also a 1x12 combo with 1 volume and 1 tone... but it is a 6V6 amp. I really love the Classic Cat - it's a fantastic amp for when I don't want to lug my maz Sr - but I regret never getting to try out a Ghia! I know one thing, if I ever get the chance to play a Ghia and I like it better than my Cat, I WILL own it! Just wondering if anyone has played both.

I have tried both, before deciding on the Ghia 2x10 combo. There is something more "intimate" about playing the CG. I have never played an amp that lets every little detail through like the CG. The tone control also has more range than the Black Cat. I also prefer the sound of the 2x10 than a 1x12, it's more "three-dimensional".
Don't need any pedals unless I need distortion at low volumes. Still experimenting there.
