;D I have a Remedy and and SRZ. [glow=red,2,300]Strike that. Here's the updated - I just traded a guitar for a MINT SRZ to play with my LE. [/glow] Question #1
Does anyone else run this combo? [glow=red,2,300]Running a Remedy with an SRZ has some flaws that you'll have to work around but can be quite spectacular when running with pedals.[/glow] #2
I loaned my Remedy to a buddy and have since fallen in love with the SRZ clean tones. Given the choice between the two, what would you rather have? Remedy with SRZ or TWO SRZ's set up differently?
My buddy wants my Remedy so I would alway have access to it/
The Remedy has a girt that is unmatched by any other amp I have ever played which is great when you play by itself BUT when played with the SRZ it can actually over power the SRZ in an un-musical way.
What would you guys do.
Might be a no no but I'll post this in the Remedy section as well.
Thanks!
M

If you are thinking two SRZs why not an SRZ and a 6545 - even more flexibilty!

A 6545 would be cool if you could find one. But they are rare!
I would personally rather have two different amps, if for nothing else, just to have some variety. I could see you really digging the clean tones of the KT-45 or the Rx ES perhaps.
If the non-master volume element to the Remedy is a problem, you might consider either
A) an attenuator B) 1970's Marshall JMP-50 with master volume
Two SRZ-65's would be a sweet rig too, but I think my choice would be a Rx ES and a SRZ-65. Cheers!

Matt, I know what you mean from a slightly different perspective. My all-time favorite Z (so-far) is the Mazerati GT. I love playing w/ a stereo rig (both amps on all the time, not A-B), but my GT doesn't play well w/ others. When I get the volumes and tones set up for a nice hairy crunch in stereo, I can't roll back on the guitar's volume for nice cleans w/out the other amp (non GT) dropping out. The GT's clean (w/ the guitar's volume rolled back) just overpowers anything I pair it with. Because of this, it's been getting little play time. I'm still on the search for the perfect pair for the GT. My SRZ pairs real well w/ my Galaxie. That's been my live rig for a while now (although I haven't been playing out for a few months ). They compliment each other well. Have you tried both amps set-up differently? Crank the MV on the SRZ and back off on the Gain. That could have the SRZ respond more like a non-MV amp. Mess w/ different setting to get them to respond differently, and you might stumble onto something. I feel for you. Buy more amps... that's always a good solution! I've been wanting to see how a KT-45 or Remedy or Z Wreck pairs w/ the GT. However, I wouldn't get rid of my GT. I wouldn't recommend you get rid of the Remedy, either. Try to find a way to do different pairings to find it's soul-mate.

I must be NUTS. Had a few days to think it over. Yeah, its a crazy idea if it means selling the Remedy. I wont do that. Rich, I tried what you suggested and I like it a lot better. So far, the SRZ setting is presence noon, bass noon OR full, Mids noon to 3pm, treble about 9, Gain around 9 and MS to suit. See my post on my recent pedalboard build in effects for a break down: ztalk.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=fx&action=display&thread=41392Thanks a lot for the sound advice and ideas guys, I really appreciate it! Jaime, don't think Z fest is in the cards this year but I sure do want to get there one day. Matt

[glow=red,2,300]So the current rig is as stated in the first post. A very midrangey SRZ LE running with a very thick sounding production SRZ. Split up by a Radial Twin Cities ABY pedal. Each amp powers their own Mesa Thiele Cab. I run the two out of phase to create a nice spacial pocket for the JAZ to sit - Right between the two SRZ Rigs. How do you spell SELF INDULGENCE ? From the ABY pedal I run the production SRZ with an MXR Phase 90 (R28mod) into a DD7. The other SRZ goes straight into the othe rinput on the DD7. PING -PONG!!!!! Guys, Sooooooo much fun. I had my guitar teacher over last night to play with everything. All he could do was get a couple of syllables out of his grinning face before abandoning his thoughts for a more expressive launguage in his playing. So, what I found was that the Remedy didn't really play all that well with the SRZ. My LE in particular. I think rolling off the guitar volume yieled a miss matched signal level to each amp which didn't translate nicely to the ears. The SRZ would roll out and lose gain, as did the Remedy BUT the Remedy would hold that blooming bottom to the end. If I rolled back the guitar volume to say half, all you would hear is the Remedy. So, I found a guy willing to trade a strat for an SRZ. DONE! Problem solved. OT - I can't say enough good things about that Radial Twin Cities ABY pedal. If you are thinking about stereo, find one used to try. One of these days I'll get a pick up for yas! M[/glow]

YOU ARE VERY LUCKY!!!! I have decided to make my next amp an LE!!! I would love to run in this fashion. My old Big Box sounds so good, Nothing against the Remedy but it just isnt the SRZ!!! Im loving it and wish i could find someone who wants to let their LE GO, I missed the last one on TGP due to another purchase, keep us updated
