very rough mix from a tune we did yesterday with an artist I'm working with named Jon Divello. I played my LP Special (both pickups) through the Z-28 into the 2 x 12" open back Z cab with a little Voodoo trem on the basic track guitar (R side) I used the same guitar on the bridge pickup for the overdub guitar that comes in on the 2nd Chorus (L side). few more details, Brake Lite on 2. Cab has a Blue and G-12H. Royer 121 was 9" off of the blue into a Neve 1067 for both tracks barely tickling the Manley ELOP compressor. Todd's cable. ericambel.com/ericambel_music/Tellittome.mp3this isn't finished so please don't pass it around beyond here. Hope you like it. Thanks.

thanks guys. We've had the Z's at the studio for years but we are regularly astonished by the sound of Doc's open backed 2 x 12" cab. It was Brent's suggestion to go with the Blue/G12H combination.

Not finished? Not finished! You mean to say it is going to get better? It already seems just right.

Seriously, I could dig more of this. Yea, turn it up. Listening again right now and I am really getting sucked in by the sound of the pick. Don't mix that out! Lindy P90s? Which ones? I have often fantasized about trying some P90s in my bargain basement Vintage Mahogany Les Paul.

Thanks, That guitar does have the Lindy's in there. They are the 10 years old. I think they were the only P-90's he made at the time.

Very nice Eric. I like the simplicity of the guitar work there on the left side. I learned years ago that less is more.
I have a Z 2x12 open back here. I think it may be time to change the speakers out and discover the Blue/G12H30 combination.

Holy crap Eric! Would that I could curse on this distinguished and mature forum. If I could I'd say:
"Great @#$#ing job Eric!!!!!!!"

Great tune, performances, guitar tone etc. I love the trem guitar fade out. And as crazy as this seems from a guitar player, the snare tone and attack is fabulous. I'd want this and it's fellow siblings in my music collection.

Funny, I was thinking; turn up the guitar and turn down the snare. I like it (the snare) but I would like it more if it were less. And I am still digging the strumming a lot.

Thanks again everybody. Glad you liked the rough mix. Jon has a reverbnation page up that has 5 of the songs we cut. You can year the finished versions. Most of the electrics are Z's. Here you go. www.reverbnation.com/jondivelloband

Man...
For some reason, this track reminds me of some of Lucinda Williams best stuff.
